The FBTA and the entire brain tumor community applaud both the MCHF and CBT for their leadership and incredible support. With the science of cancer realizing incredible changes this last decade, this organization vows to increase their commitment to fund research with the goal of helping to contribute to the defeat of brain cancer, and all cancers, once and for all. The actions of MCHF and CBT has provided the FBTA with an outstanding opportunity to do just that.
The FloridaBrain TumorAssociation (FBTA) is proud to announce a significant advancement in fundraising for Pediatric Brain Cancer Research. The New Year came bearing more gifts for the brain tumor community, after an unprecedented growth in the amount of funds donated to research by the FBTA in 2011. The loyalty of long-time association supporters continued to remain strong, despite the still-sluggish economy; and, as the year came to a close, the generosity of the FBTA donors was highlighted by the new commitments made to the organization.
It was publically announced at the close of 2011 that the U.S. Senate introduced a resolution that reaffirms the nations long-standing commitment to cancer research. However, the citizens of this country should not solely rely on the Government to sustain the level of research funding that is needed to develop cures to the cancer and illnesses that we seek. Funding must come on a much greater scale from the private sector in order to make the neccessary strides to fight such a deadly disease.
